Peel and Stick vs Non-Woven Wallpaper

Short answer: choose Peel & Stick if you want to hang the mural yourself without paste and your wall is smooth. Choose Non-Woven for a traditional paste-the-wall finish at the lowest price. Textured is a heavier pasted paper with a raised decorative surface, and Canvas Peel & Stick is a self-adhesive option with a canvas-like finish. Every material is printed to the same size and design, so the choice comes down to finish, installation and budget.

When is Peel & Stick the better choice?

  • You want to install it yourself without paste.
  • You rent, or you expect to change the room again: our Peel & Stick is removable and is a good fit for renters and DIY installation.
  • The wall is smooth, clean, properly prepared and dry. Peel & Stick relies on good contact with the wall, so surface preparation matters more than with pasted papers.

When is Non-Woven the better choice?

  • You want a traditional finish for a long-term installation, hung with wallpaper paste applied to the wall.
  • Your wall has some texture: paste-applied wallpaper is recommended for textured or challenging walls.
  • Budget matters: at every listed size it is our lowest-priced material.
  • The room sees some moisture or wear: it is washable, moisture resistant and breathable.
  • A professional is hanging a large wall. We recommend professional installation for larger walls whichever material you pick.

What is Textured wallpaper for?

Textured is our heaviest paper at 240 g/m², with a decorative raised surface that adds tactile depth to the printed artwork. Like Non-Woven it is a paste-the-wall paper, so it also suits lightly textured and textured walls. See wallpaper for textured walls.

What is Canvas Peel & Stick?

A self-adhesive wallpaper with a canvas-textured finish that gives the print the look of a painted canvas. Like standard Peel & Stick it needs a smooth wall and is not recommended for rough, heavily textured or damp surfaces. The canvas surface also changes how the printed artwork reads, so it is worth seeing a sample first.

Does the material change the size I order?

No. You order the same width and height whatever the material. Large orders arrive as numbered vertical panels about 40 in (100 cm) wide; panel width and quantity can vary with the size and material. To work out the size, see how much wallpaper do I need?

Can I compare materials before I order?

Yes. A sample is $16: choose Sample as the size on the product page with the material you are considering. It shows real color, print detail and finish, and for the self-adhesive options it lets you test adhesion on your own wall. Order a sample.
